当社のLEDアレイ光源は、20個の高輝度LEDで構成されており、470~850 nmの範囲に中心波長を有する6種類、もしくは波長域の広い冷白色LEDからお選びいただけます(放射スペクトルについては下のグラフをご参照ください)。LEDからの発光は、筐体で固定されている拡散板を透過します。これらのLEDアレイの発光強度は、放射軸に沿って100 mmの距離で測定した場合、1.4 mW/cm²~4.0 mW/cm²です。
Ø38 mm(Ø1.5 インチ)の筐体にマウント済みで、幅広い照明用途にお使いいただけます。筐体はカメラの照明ユニットで用いられる殆どの光学マウントに簡単に取り付けることができます。筐体の背面にあるM4または#8-32ネジ穴(下図参照)、あるいは筐体の長さ方向にある溝を利用してLEDユニットを30 mmケージシステム内に取り付けることも可能です。右下の写真のようにLEDユニットはケージロッドで挟まれていますが固定はされていないので、ケージシステムの光軸に沿って動かすことができます。LEDユニットの位置を固定するには、2つのケージエレメント(ケージプレートなど)で挟み込みます(詳しくは「使用例」のタブをご覧ください)。また当社では、上の写真のようなKS2などのØ50 mm~Ø50.8 mm(Ø2インチ)ミラーマウントにLEDを取付けるためのアダプタ(型番AD38)もご用意しております。
こちらのLEDアレイには、24 V電源LIU-PS(別売り)のみが使用可能です。 このページに記載されているLEDアレイは、当社のLED電流コントローラには対応しません。
注:通常の動作時でも、LED筐体の温度は周辺の温度より最高25°Cまで高くなる可能性があります。LEDの電源が入っている時や、電源を切った直後には、LEDの筐体には触れないでください。

注意:上図はプラグ内部のピン配列です。上図で示されているワイヤの色指定は、M8コネクタでは標準であり、あらゆる外部ワイヤ接続に共通するものです。これはPAA630ケーブルをLIUシリーズユニットに接続するときの、ケーブルワイヤ色とユニットピン番号の対応表として使用できます。
マルチカラー光源用ダイクロイックフィルタならびにフィルターホイール
左下の写真は、30 mmケージロッドの間に挿入される白色LEDアレイLIUCWHAです。 このLEDを30 mmケージフィルターホイールCFW6と30 mmケージプレートCP37/Mで挟むことによって、ケージロッドに沿って動かないようになります。 ケージプレートCP37/MにはØ35 mmの開口部があるので、ユニット背面にある電源端子部分へ簡単にアクセスできます。 右下の写真は、組立完成品です。
この用途では、CFW6はØ25.4 mm(Ø1インチ)ダイクロイックフィルタ(赤FD1R 、緑FD1G、青FD1B、マゼンタFD1M、イエローFD1YならびにシアンFD1C)を搭載しています。 白色LEDアレイと組み合わせれば、フィルターホイールを回転するだけで、試料や被写体、対象物に対してあらゆる原色や2次色の光を照射できます。
CFW6の代わりに電動フィルターホイールFW102CもしくはFW103/Mを取付けていただくと、この用途での自動化が可能です。 またLEDアレイは、ケージシステムに対応していない全てのSM1ネジ付き電動フィルターホイールに対しても、30 mmケージロッド、カプラSM1T2、そしてケージプレートCP33/Mを使用すれば取り付けられます。

 (posted 2023-08-07 15:46:21.38) Good day - I recently purchased a LIUCWHA and a LIU525B.
My question relates to the LIUCWHA.
I am using a CCS100 (recently purchased as well) in conjunction with the LIUCWHA. The wavelength vs amplitude plot of the published data doesn't match what I observe on the CCS100. If I normalise the 465nm trace to have an amplitude of "1" (full scale on the CCs100) then the 2nd peak at about 550nm has an amplitude of about 0.42. I was expecting this 2nd peak to about 0.6, as per data sheet. The CCS100 is being used with its supplied fiber optic cable and no other items connected, and in the "amplitude correction mode". If I repeat the exercise but normalise to half max amplitude "0.5", the situation remains the same, the 2nd peak is at about 0.2.
So also what I am also asking, do all the lamps have an output amplitude spectrum curve close to the published curves, or is it only the total light output that is constant (eg. 3mW/m2).

 (posted 2015-10-09 12:54:41.613) Purchased LIU525A and within 20 hours, some of the LEDs were out. We were able to return the unit and get a replacement (with some hesitation from thorlabs). The second unit eventually lost some LEDs, too! For a $200+ unit, I would expect it to last much longer. Therefore, we won't be purchasing any more array lights. jvigroux

The Arrays are equipped with an integrated circuit which drive the individual LEDs and an additional 24V power supply for the whole array is needed. It is not possible to drive the LED Array with our LED drivers and control, for example, the brightness of the LEDs. A typical control unit is shown in the manual of the LED Array: http://www.thorlabs.de/Thorcat/16000/LIU004-Manual.pdf. The LED brightness can be controlled by a variable controlled current device. The LIU are designed to work with 24V input voltage and as such there is already a input resistor to ensure that the current through the LED is correct for this voltage user

Do we need to add a load resistor in series with a 24V PSU to fix the current to max intensity or does the LIU004 have this already. we do not want to connect a pSU directly to this if it unprotected. jvigroux

The specified time is however valid only for the conditions it was tested in (temperature, voltage, voltage and current stability...). I will contact you to discuss the way the LED was used and see if there is maybe an external factor that could have precipitated the degradation of the LED. If not, we would of course exchange the LED within the warranty. david.lee
 (posted 2012-06-18 10:10:23.0) The stated operating lifetime for the LIU004 LED light source is up to 100,000 hours which is approximately 11 years. We have two of these units, both operating with the LIU-PS power supply. On one unit 10 of the LEDs have failed. On the second unit many of the LEDs now have significantly lower brightness than the brightest LED causing the source appear highly non-uniform. I suspect the dim LEDs will fail soon. Both units have only been operated for approximately 1,000 hours. Is LED lifetime a known issue? Could we improve the LED lifetime by operating at a lower power? Any comments regarding improving the lifetime would be appreciated. jvigroux
 (posted 2011-12-08 10:20:00.0) A response from Julien at Thorlabs: Unfortunately the compliance voltage of the LEDD1B is around 12V while the required forward voltage for the LIU001 is 24V. The LEDD1B is meant to be use primarily with our high power mounted LEDs. The most suited adjustable LED driver for the LIU00X would be the DC2100 due to its high compliance voltage. jripoll

これらのユニットへの電源供給には2つの方法があります。LIU-PSは24 VDCの電源でLIUシリーズのLEDアレイの電源供給用に設計されています。この電源には、標準のプラグアダプタが付属します。
また、一端はM8コネクタ付き、もう一端は4本の素線の長さ2 mの電源ケーブルPAA630もご用意しています。このM8コネクタはLIUシリーズのLEDアレイのレセプタクルに取付け可能なので、既存の電源がご利用いただけます。
尚、この電源は上に掲載されているLEDとのみご使用いただけます。当社の高出力マウント済みLED、コリメートLED、ファイバ出力型LEDにはお使いいただけませんのでご注意ください。
日本向けのプラグのみが付属しています。

LED取付け用リングアダプタAD38は2重穴構造をしており、付属のナイロンチップ付き#8-32止めネジ(セットスクリュ)でLIUシリーズのLEDアレイを固定します。アダプターリングの外径はØ50.8 mm(Ø2インチ)で、当社の Ø50 mm~Ø50.8 mm(Ø2インチ)キネマティックマウントKC2L/M(右の写真参照)に取り付けることができます。LEDアレイを取り付ける際は、上部にある止めネジでアダプタ内にアレイを固定し、LEDアレイとアダプタをご希望のマウントに入れ込み、止めネジまたは固定リングSM2RRのいずれか(マウントによって異なります)でアダプタを固定します。
